SUMMER 2022

The science of preserving nature since 1964

Ken Almstead

Certified Arborist & CEO

Letter from the CEO

For me, the most exciting part of this year so far has been all the Arbor Day celebrations we participated in again — after limiting our activities for the past two years because of Covid. We went back to our usual roster of events during Arbor Week in our communities with tree climbing stations for kids, tree plantings, presentations in schools and other local organizations as well as handing out hundreds of free tree saplings. Read more about our events here.

Many of the tree and shrub pests and diseases that we alerted you to last here are still prevalent and we’ve highlighted them in this issue. Please contact your Almstead arborist if you notice any of them on your property.

It’s been a hot summer so far and I would advise you to keep watering your lawn. We’ve been sending emails and notifying our customers on social media. If you are not on our email list I would recommend that you sign up using the form below so we can keep you updated on any issues that can affect your trees, shrubs and lawn throughout the year. With fall coming up soon we will be starting our Fall Lawn Services. Read about it here.

Almstead renewed its TCIA Accreditation again this year. We have been in continuous good standing since we first applied for it in 2013. TCIA Accreditation is the only business practices and compliance program for tree care companies in America and it credentials companies which meet stringent criteria for professionalism, employee training, state and federal safety regulations, business ethics and customer satisfaction. Read more in our article here.

If you have any issues or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me personally by email at kalmstead@almstead.com. I hope you have a wonderful summer and fall with your family, friends and green surroundings.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,
